Introduction

N-BUTYL METHACRYLATE is a clear colorless liquid. Flash point 130°F. Less dense (7.5 lb / gal) than water and insoluble in water. Hence floats on water.

Applications

It is used in formulating paints and dispersions for paints, inks, and adhesives.

It is used in making cleaning products, antioxidant agents, amphoteric surfactants.

It is used in making aqueous resins and dispersions for textiles and papers.

Methyl acrylate also used in making vitamin B1.

N Butyl Methacrylate is used to produce acrylic polymers and copolymers for the following applications: acrylic sheet molding, clear plastics, extrusion powder, latex paints, copier toners, printing inks, floor polishes, oil additives, adhesive cements, acrylic surface and paper coatings, and automotive coatings and lacquers.
